Worli

Jutting into the Arabian Sea, Worli is one of Mumbai’s oldest fishing villages and most striking urban neighborhoods. Once an island, it was among the original Seven Islands of Bombay before land reclamation stitched it to the mainland. Today, Worli is a blend of the old and the new: Koli fishermen still mend their nets in Worli Koliwada, while the iconic Bandra–Worli Sea Link arcs across the bay in gleaming steel. History lingers in the 17th-century Worli Fort, built by the British for coastal defense, and daily life unfolds vividly along the Worli Sea Face — one of Mumbai’s favorite seaside promenades. Here, waves crash, joggers run, couples stroll, and the city skyline glows at sunset.
